Yoga Classes
Sutra Yoga offers a wide array of classes and styles by some of Seattles most dedicated and holistic instructors.
Prana Vinyasa Yoga
Prana is a Sanskrit word that is commonly translated as "breath, life force, or energy", referring to the mystery that sustains all of life. Prana Vinyasa Yoga is the practice of connecting and re-charging this life force through creative sequencing, attention to realigning ourselves with the divine through a strong flowing physical practice, mantra, and pranayama. Classes very gently heated from 80-85 degrees.
Surya Yoga
Surya Yoga is a fun, formatted engaging heated yoga class that provides a total body workout while still incorporating breath and more traditional hatha yoga practices. Class begins with warming pranayama and kriya practices, then moves to a strong series of asanas to strengthen the lower and upper body, we then move onto core work to strengthen abdominals, inner thighs and the back, and finish class with a therapeutic floor series to leave the body feeling stronger and more open. Classes heated from 90-95 degress.
Gentle Flow Stress Reduction
This class will help better focus your attention and eliminate the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be crowding your mind and stressing your body and spirit. Our hope is that you’ll be better equipped to manage stressful situations through new perspectives, increased self-awareness, and learning stay in the present moment.
You’ll begin with a Prananyama practice (breathing techniques) specific to creating a balanced sense of wellness, then move into Meditation techniques, useful both in and out of the classroom. You’ll continue with a slow and gentle prana vinyasa practice to release built up body tensions, then move into Yin (long held poses) and Restorative poses as an entrance to a guided savasana and final meditation. This class is suitable for all levels of practitioner, (including pregnant women).
Fundamentals of Yoga
This class is a wonderful start for students new to yoga and students who are wishing to refresh fundamental body awareness skills, detail work and continue progression into a stable and strong practice through slow detailed instruction. This is an all-levels class currently offered every Sat. 12-1:15pm.
Mantra and Vocal Toning

Join us for a blissful evening of Mantra and Vocal Toning on Sundays from 6:45 - 7:45pm. No experience necessary! Benefits of Mantra Class include creating harmony with a group, releasing blockages in the throat, opening the heart, improving self-expression, and creating peace, abundance, and health. $10 suggested donation; class cards cannot be applied to a Mantra class. There is no preregistration for these weekly workshops - everyone is welcome!
Childcare
We offer childcare next door at Sutra Restaurant for the Tuesday noon Surya class with Annie and the Wednesday noon Prana Vinyasa Level 1-2 class with Amber. Sign in at the studio and then escort your little one next door where we have a play area set up and constant supervision while you enjoy your practice. No need to preregister, but please come a few minutes early to allow for sign up and drop off.
$5 per child, all ages welcome!
